More About Lauren Bean

Hey there. If you have been wondering, “How in the world did I get here?”, “This is not how it was supposed to be”, or “Where do I go from here?” Let’s talk. These questions can come from trauma, feeling overwhelmed with life and relationships, or dealing with anxiety about the future. These questions can bring up anger and grief about unmet expectations and unmet needs. My goal is for you to have a better understanding of yourself in mind, body, and spirit while sorting out what’s bringing you here so that you can exist as the person you want to be.

Sessions with me might feel like being wrapped in a cozy blanket with a little nudge in the direction you want to go. My approach is person-centered, non-judgmental, and collaborative. I would love to support you in developing a better relationship with yourself, identifying and meeting your needs, and equipping you with tools to navigate future obstacles. If technical language is your thing, I work from a trauma-informed perspective, and the modalities I often use are person-centered, somatic therapy, and ACT.

Before entering the wonderful world of counseling, I was a 5th-grade teacher and a project manager at a nonprofit consulting firm. I’ve taught barre classes for 7 years, love reading and watching movies, and (to me) have the best dog in the world.

I know this kind of work can be difficult and exhausting, but so rewarding, and it would be a privilege to join you in it.
