Hello! I am thrilled that you are taking this step toward healing! Whether you have seen many other therapists, or this will be your first time speaking to someone, you are welcome here! This process to find help can be such a difficult and vulnerable one. My goal will be to help make your healing journey as safe as possible.
I am a Social Worker which means that my approach will be to explore your environment, your inner world, and how the two interact with each other. Whether that be your relationships, your career, your home life, or simply the way you think and feel, I am interested in learning all about you and how you process the world.
While understanding and processing your thoughts and emotions will be a large part of the work that you and I will do together, I am also hoping to simply sit with you as you allow yourself to feel. By creating a safe and comfortable space together, I hope that we can start the process of learning to tolerate your emotions, and eventually accept them as the wisdom that they are.
I like to bring humor and intentional silliness into therapy. I absolutely love to laugh and think that life can be the level of absurd that only laughter can make sense of. While I want you to feel safe to bring all of your painful and difficult experiences into the therapeutic relationship, I also want to create plenty of space to explore the more beautiful and humorous parts of life. I believe strongly that the silliest versions of ourselves often tend to be the most at peace.
A bit about me is that I was a non-traditional college student. I dropped out of college after one semester when I was 19. I simply was not ready to be there at that time in my life! After spending some time in the workforce, I decided to go back to school to finish my degrees. I have lived in Texas my entire life and I know the struggle of feeling like you do not fit into our more conservative state. I want you to be able to show up as your full self and feel seen and heard. I have a dog named Tobii and two nieces that I adore!
I will be so honored to walk beside you on your path through life.
